    This photo depicts the top of Saint Michael's Russian Orthodox Church laying on its side following the 1921 flood. It is in the Grove neighborhood of Pueblo near the confluence of the Arkansas and Fountain Rivers. Mud, water, and debris can be seen everywhere. The congregation later rebuilt their church on higher ground on land that was sold to them by CF&I for $1.

    The Nuckolls Packing Plant building (later known as Alpha Beta) is still located on Santa Fe. The Arkansas Valley Power and Light Company was also located in this area. During the flood, with it's dynamos completely submerged, lights went out at 9:13pm on June 3. No electricity ran through until June 7, when the circuits were ready to receive power from the CF&I plant, which supplied Pueblo for at least a week.

    The height of the flood waters reached around 15 feet in some areas, damaging the intake reservoir, water pumps and pipes. This left Puebloans without a drinkable water supply. In the days following, CF&I distributed water from its artesian well on wagons throughout the city. The Company's water main from its reservoirs was tied into the city's and provided the citizens with water that they could boil for drinking.
